Sign in with OrderInChat when Claude or ChatGPT asks. Generate a Bearer token on that page only for ChatGPT Custom GPT Actions or your own scripts.

You do not need a marketplace / Plugin Directory listing for private use.

Claude (easiest)

Needs a paid Claude plan (claude.ai).

In Claude: Customize → Connectors → Add → Add custom connector

Connect → sign in with OrderInChat → Allow
In a chat, ask: “list my products” or “summarise this week's orders”

Claude asks before using tools that change your store. If Claude designs an Artifact instead of calling tools, say: “Use the OrderInChat tools.”

ChatGPT

Two paths. Prefer A if you see Developer mode / Apps.

A) MCP connector (Developer mode)

Enable Developer mode (often under Settings → Apps → Advanced, or Settings → Security and login — OpenAI moves this toggle)

In a new chat, enable the app/connector (often + → More / Developer mode)

Plan note: Custom MCP connectors usually need a paid ChatGPT plan (Pro / Team / Business). If you do not see Create / Developer mode, use path B.

B) Custom GPT Actions (works without MCP UI)

Other AI apps

For now only Claude and ChatGPT can connect to your store. Grok, Gemini, Perplexity, Le Chat, Microsoft Copilot Studio and other AI apps are not supported yet.

Your own scripts and tools (Bearer token)

For a script or tool you or your developer run yourselves. The token works like a password: anyone who has it can use your store tools, so keep it private and revoke it if it leaks.

What AI assistants cannot do

Send WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger messages to your customers, or send Checkout Flows — that stays in OrderInChat.
Take, move or refund payments.
See passwords, payment keys or connected-account tokens.

They can read and change catalog, orders (status only), customers, bookings, store pages and the knowledge base. Every tool is marked read-only or write, and AI assistants ask you before using write tools.

Revoke access

Panel → Assistant → MCP → Revoke access disconnects every AI assistant using your store at once (Claude, ChatGPT and any script using your token) and invalidates the current Bearer token. Assistants must sign in again; Bearer clients need a newly generated token. Owners and admins only.

Billing

OrderInChat does not charge any extra fee or surcharge for using MCP. Tool calls simply use your store's existing AI credits — the same monthly credits your WhatsApp AI uses (1,000 credits ≈ $1; Starter includes about 9,000 per month). Your Claude / ChatGPT subscription is billed by that provider.

The figures below are estimates. Actual credits vary with the AI model and the amount of data a request reads or returns.

Real example: “Show store info, 3 products, this week's orders and our booking services” made 4 calls = 10 + 20 + 20 + 10 = 60 credits (≈ $0.06).

If the store runs out of credits, tools return “insufficient credits” until the next month or a top-up.

Customers order with AI assistants

This section is about your customers, not you. Turn on Allow AI assistant shopping at the top of this page and customers can browse your products and ask about shipping, returns and bookings in ChatGPT or Claude.

Share the Order with ChatGPT / Claude links (store page, social profiles, QR). They open the AI app with your store already selected. The panel also shows a ready QR code for each link — download it as PNG (1024 px) or SVG for print.
Customers sign in once: by sending a ready-made message to your WhatsApp number, or with an email code. Without a WhatsApp connection only the email code is offered.
Payment always happens on your own checkout. The assistant cannot pay or place orders.
Each assistant action uses store AI credits: 20 for a product search, product details or a knowledge base search, 30 for booking availability or a cart, 10 for anything else (store info, shipping, categories…). When credits run out, customers are told to use your website or WhatsApp.
Daily AI credit limit (default 2,000 credits, set it under the switch): protects your credits from automated traffic. When it is reached, assistants see your store as temporarily unavailable until midnight UTC and you get one email that day. Each customer can also create at most 5 carts per day in your store, and temporary (throwaway) email addresses cannot sign in.
Customers you block in the Inbox get no answers from the AI assistant either.
Stores selling weapons, tobacco/nicotine/vape, drugs, prescription medicines, adult content, gambling or alcohol cannot use this feature.
