Products

Create and manage products, variants, images, and inventory.

Overview

Catalog → Products (/en/store/products) is the catalog source of truth for storefront and Meta catalog sync.

Common actions

  • New Product — name, description, images, price, inventory, variants
  • Filter / search the product list
  • Edit existing products; set active vs draft as available in UI

Import from a website or file

Use Import products on the products list. Website catalogs run a trial sample first. CSV, Excel, XML, and URL-list uploads are limited to 5 MB and use a review-first flow:

  1. Add optional AI instructions before uploading (for example, which price is retail or which rows are appointments).
  2. AI inspects every file and suggests separate mappings for product, variant, and add-on prices, inventory, type, and parent rows.
  3. Confirm or change every important column. If the sample is misleading, choose Analyze entire file with AI; large files are analyzed in parts.
  4. Choose defaults for physical products, digital products, services/appointments, or subscriptions, then import.

No plan limits how many products you can have. Large imports run in parts: website catalogs import 500 product pages per part and the next part starts on its own; catalog files import a few products per request while the import window is open, show progress (done / total), and continue from the same product if the page was closed or a part failed. Shopify and WooCommerce stores sync through the connection in small slices that resume on their own.

Rows without a confirmed price are not silently discarded. They are imported as private, inactive drafts with price 0 and an import warning. Services can create booking settings; subscriptions can map billing interval fields. Imported descriptions strip source-shop/outbound links and hardcoded theme colors.

Website, file (CSV, Excel, XML), and panel assistant imports publish new products right away. A product missing a name, a price, or an image is kept as a draft, and the import summary shows how many and why. Products that already exist keep their status, so a re-import never publishes a product you moved back to draft. To keep every new product as a draft, turn on Import as drafts before you start. Re-uploading a file updates the fields of existing products (same SKU) without changing their status.

Website imports read the source site one page at a time, 10 seconds apart, and work on up to four products at once in the background; pages that already carry complete product data (structured data with name, price, images and a full description) are imported without the AI extract step, and images are copied into your media library right after the product is saved. If the site is yours, turn on This is my own site to read a page about every 2.5 seconds. After the trial sample, Continue remaining imports only the pages the trial did not import; to redo the sample with new instructions, use Re-run trial with these instructions.

If a website blocks the import (some IdeaSoft and Cloudflare-protected stores refuse our servers), choose Site blocks the import? Import with the Chrome extension under the address field. Tick that the store is your own and press Connect the extension, then click the OrderInChat icon in Chrome's toolbar (desktop Chrome, extension 1.3.1 or later) and press Start. Chrome asks once for access to your site; there is no separate allow-access button. If you pasted a one-time code into the extension instead, press Connect first, then Start. Find products through the extension reads your sitemap from your browser, and the import then reads product pages, variant prices and images the same way, by default 1 page per second, 2 at a time (you can slow it down to 1 page every 5 seconds). You can close the extension's side panel: the import keeps running as long as Chrome stays open, and its status shows in the extension card in OrderInChat. If you press Stop, close Chrome or your site shows a security check, the import pauses and continues when you start the extension again or press Retry. The extension only reads your own site's pages that the import asks for, sends no cookies by default, and nothing else in your browser.

Move my website can also read your non-product pages through the same extension when your site blocks our servers: about, contact, FAQ, legal pages, blog posts and category descriptions. Tick Read my site through the Chrome extension, connect the extension, and press Start in the extension. Category pages only fill in empty descriptions of categories that already exist in your store; they do not create new categories or overwrite descriptions you wrote.

When the AI is not sure, it asks

When a website import cannot read a value for certain — for example the currency of the prices, whether prices include VAT, whether separate pages are variants of one product, variant prices that do not match the page, a category close to one you already have, or descriptions in another language — it does not guess. The field is left empty, a new product is kept as a hidden draft, and a question appears under Questions about this import in the import window (also in the products step of Migrate website). Each question shows its options, the exact text from the source page with a link to it, and how many products it affects. The recommended option is marked Recommended but never selected for you.

  • Questions marked Needed to continue (price, currency, VAT, variant grouping, or an option that would spend AI credits) must be answered before Continue remaining starts the rest of the import. Other questions can be skipped with Skip question.
  • Remember this for this site is on by default: the answer is saved for this site, so the next import from the same site does not ask again. Saved answers for this site lists the saved answers and earlier versions; Restore this version brings an older version back.
  • After you answer, the waiting products are updated with your answer without AI. Questions and applying answers spend no AI credits; only an option that needs AI (such as translating descriptions) does, and the card shows the approximate credits per product before you choose.
  • Variant prices that could not be checked against the page are asked here as well, instead of the separate "I checked the variant prices" confirmation.

Bulk spreadsheet editor

Open Bulk spreadsheet editor from Products to edit product and variant names, prices, compare-at prices, stock, SKUs, and product status. Up to 100 products are displayed per page; large saves are processed in batches of 500 changes.

Stock cells can expand into a per-location matrix when the store has inventory locations. Shopify writes only the selected location quantities. If more than one location exists, changing the total stock without choosing locations is blocked. WooCommerce still uses one default virtual location for core stock.

Manage locations at Catalog → Inventory (/en/store/inventory). Source-linked Shopify locations cannot be deleted; deactivate them instead.

For each changed field choose one sync policy:

  • Save in OrderInChat; source may overwrite later — a future Shopify/WooCommerce sync can restore the source value.
  • Keep only in OrderInChat — source sync keeps updating other fields but does not overwrite this field.
  • Update Shopify/WooCommerce too — saves locally, then writes to the external store. Shopify requires reconnecting with product/inventory write permissions; WooCommerce requires a Read/Write key.

External write failures remain visible as failed items. You can retry them or restore the affected OrderInChat products to their previous values.

Notes

  • Primary currency is set in Store Setup; changing currency does not auto-convert existing prices
  • Shipping weight uses the store weight unit (metric/imperial)
