Automations

Automate store workflows with triggers, actions, and live catalog lookups.

Overview

Store settings → Automations (/en/store/automations) runs workflows when something happens in your store (new order, booking, schedule, …).

This is inside OrderInChat — different from MCP / AI agents, which is for external Claude/ChatGPT/n8n.

Tips

  • Start with a simple notification or WhatsApp template after an order event
  • Prefer supported schedule options over a custom Cron expression
  • Test on one event before enabling broadly

Live data lookups

Use these when a later step (AI generate / WhatsApp / email) needs real catalog or order data:

ActionWhat it puts in context
Lookup CatalogProduct hits → {{catalog_hits}}
Lookup ShippingProfiles → shipping_profiles
Lookup OrderOne order → order
Lookup CouponsActive coupons → coupons
Lookup Store InfoName/contact → store

Typical chain in the wizard: lookup catalog → AI generate a short message → send WhatsApp.

Edit an automation to change the action type and fill catalog query / order number fields.

Visual canvas

Use New automation or a template on Store settings → Automations for an n8n-style node canvas (trigger → condition → delay → action).

Node picker

The toolbar starts with Trigger, then Action, Condition, Delay, and AI. Trigger opens Choose a trigger; Action opens Choose a step. Both pickers are nearly full-screen and open on the Order tab (other tabs: WhatsApp, Shipping, Lookup, …, with All last). Select a chip to read a description + examples, then add it and fill parameters in the inspector (plus optional AI instructions for this step).

Extra ops steps: Set variables (save key=value lines into the run, values may use {{placeholders}}), HTTP Request (URL, method, optional headers/body JSON), and Retry (adds an HTTP Request step with 3 retries, 60 s apart). Merge, Switch, and Error trigger are listed as Soon and cannot be added yet.

Retry on failure

Any action or AI step has a Retry on failure block in the inspector: max retries (0–10) and seconds between attempts. If the step fails (error, failed result, or message not sent), the run waits and repeats the same step; after the last retry the flow continues as before.

Notes tab

The sidebar has Inspector | Notes | Run log. Notes is the automation description (purpose summary). Automations created or updated with AI get notes filled in on Save (purpose, trigger, steps) unless you edited the notes yourself; manual automations stay empty until you write something.

Align, copy/paste, and right-click

Use the align buttons in the toolbar to tidy the graph horizontally (left to right from the trigger) or vertically. Right-click a node for Copy, Paste, Duplicate, Delete, and Convert to condition / action. On the trigger node, right-click offers Change trigger….

Multiple outgoing connections

You can draw several lines from one node (fan-out). Every connected next step runs. Condition nodes still use separate Yes / No handles.

Create with AI

On the list page, Create with AI turns a plain-language goal into a draft graph (nodes + edges). Review on the canvas, fill phone numbers, then activate.

On a saved automation, the canvas toolbar shows Describe changes: it opens a small dialog where you describe what to change in plain language; the AI updates the automation and may ask follow-up questions.

Dropship label relay (template)

  1. Open Templates → Dropship label relay (or describe it with Create with AI).
  2. Select the Order Created trigger → set Only from these WhatsApp numbers to the dropshipper’s WA number.
  3. Select Forward to cargo depot → set Send to phone to the cargo depot number.
  4. Activate.

Flow: order from dropshipper → if notes lack a URL, WhatsApp asks for the label → Wait for inbound until they send a link/media → Extract URL → Forward WhatsApp to depot with {{product_name}}, {{quantity}}, {{label_url}}.

New building blocks: Extract URL, Wait for inbound WhatsApp, Forward WhatsApp, trigger phone filters, notes-has-URL condition.

The AI wizard remains available for natural-language creation.
