AI Instructions
Custom system instructions that shape how your store AI speaks.
Overview
Assistant → AI Instructions (/en/settings/ai-instructions) stores custom instructions and optional per-channel notes.
You can also edit them under Assistant → Instructions.
Best practices
- Write instructions in English. Models follow English rules most reliably. Chat with Panel AI in any language; when the AI (or you) saves instructions here, the stored text should be English. Your store default language still controls customer-facing catalog and replies — not this field.
- State brand voice, languages, and hard constraints (refund policy, escalation)
- Prefer short, enforceable rules (“keep answers short”, “only discuss catalog products”) over long essays
- Do not paste secrets or private API keys
- Instructions shape tone and limits — they do not replace catalog data or Knowledge Base facts
- Do not paste full price lists or booking calendars here — those belong in Products / Bookings
Example rules that work well
Use short lines the model can obey:
- Keep answers short (a few sentences unless the customer asks for detail)
- Only discuss products and services that exist in the live catalog
- Never invent prices, discounts, or opening hours
- Use live availability for bookings — do not invent time slots
- If unsure about policy, say you will escalate to the team
- Reply in the customer’s language
Avoid long essays that restate the entire Knowledge Base. Link customers to facts that already live in KB or catalog.
When answers are still weak
If customers say the AI is vague or inconsistent, fix data quality and contradictions first (Knowledge Base + Products + Procedures), then tighten instructions. See Improve store AI answers.
